Hamburg is a small city in Carver County, Minnesota, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 513. Hamburg is located approximately 40 miles southwest of Minneapolis and is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. The city is named after Hamburg, Germany, and was founded by German immigrants in the 1800s. Today, Hamburg is a primarily residential community with a small downtown area and several parks and trails. The city is part of the Eastern Carver County School District and is served by several small businesses and community organizations.
